Good Faith Estimate Notice
Effective January 1, 2022 under the No Surprises Act (Public Law 116-260)
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
The No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects patients from unexpected medical bills. It requires health care providers to give uninsured (or self-pay) patients a Good Faith Estimate of costs before providing services.
This law applies to you if you are paying out of pocket or if you choose not to use your insurance for therapy services at Open Minds Therapy.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your scheduled service. The estimate will include:
For reference, our current self-pay rates are:
These are estimates only. Your actual Good Faith Estimate will be specific to your treatment plan and provided to you in writing before services begin. See our Fees & Insurance page for full details.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. You may contact us first to resolve the discrepancy, or you may start the dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
To start the dispute process or learn more, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
